Its been a very long day today. We started Lilly's third cycle of chemo. we were at clinic from 9 am to 530 pm. Its very hard to be there sometimes. It hits me so hard every time I walk in that building. Its easy to pretend everything is fine until you're confronted with it at the hospital and it becomes a reality again. I cried a lot today. And on top of everything else my iphone 4 fell and hit Lilly's infusion pump stand and the screen completely shattered. At least we got to come home tonight and didn't have to stay overnight at the hospital. She goes back in the morning for more and then again on Friday as well. I have to work tomorrow so that will not be easy. But then I am off until Monday and hopefully can enjoy christmas with my family.

Lilly did very well with her transfusion. She seems so much happier and looks very pink ;) I didn't realize how pale she was. Her appetite is back as well. The only side effect was that she is now covered in hives from head to toe. We go back next wednesday, thursday, and friday for the 3rd round of chemo.

Miss Lilly got her synergis shot today at Hershey. She was not very happy about it but she needs it to prevent a respiratory infection. Her WBC count dropped to 3, so we will continue to give her the Neupogen shots at home every day. She seems to be pretty happy though with all things considered. She is such a trooper.

Lilly's second cycle of Chemo is over and we are on our way home. She is very cranky and doesn't want to eat but no vomiting yet. Hopefully going home and seeing her sister will make her feel better. She didn't sleep much either. The one chemo drug they used made her scream for 2 hours straight last night. I am keeping my hopes up that she will bounce back as well as she did last time.

We met with the oncologist so far today and had all her blood work done to make sure she is ok to start the chemo. We are waiting on a bed on the Children's Hospital floor so we can be admitted and start the second round. If all goes well with this round, she will be able to do it as outpatient for the remaining cycles. The next cycle is 3 days long and will be at Christmas.
